Questions about booking a phone call with Let’s Just Talk OK? Here are the practical details, from choosing your befriender to what happens at your appointment.

What is Let’s Just Talk OK?

We offer paid, one-to-one befriending calls for adults aged 18 and over in the UK. You can chat about your day, share an interest or have someone listen. This is friendly conversation, not therapy, counselling, medical advice or a crisis service.

How much does a call cost?

A 30-minute call costs £30. A 60-minute call costs £45. Calls are paid for in advance through the booking process.

Are calls by phone or video?

All calls are by phone. There is no video call, app or camera to set up. Your befriender rings the telephone number supplied with your booking from our office number, which appears on your phone.

Can I choose my befriender?

Yes. Choose your befriender and an available time in the booking form. Befrienders are shown by their first name.

How do I book?

Choose your call length, befriender and an available appointment on our booking page. Enter the correct telephone number and confirm that you are 18 or over. You can also read How It Works before booking.

Can I book a call for today?

Same-day calls may be available. Check the booking calendar for your chosen befriender.

What happens at the booked time?

Your befriender rings you. Keep your phone nearby and find somewhere you feel comfortable talking. You do not need to prepare a topic or share anything you would rather keep to yourself.

What can I talk about?

Everyday life, hobbies, something on your mind or simply how your week has been. You choose what to share. Calls must remain respectful and follow our customer terms. We do not provide medical, legal or financial advice or promise a particular emotional outcome.

Do you record calls or keep notes?

Calls are not recorded. Befrienders may keep written notes in our befriender notes system for continuity and safeguarding. Our policy restricts access to the befriender assigned to that customer and authorised administrators. Notes are reviewed monthly: routine notes are deleted when at least 28 days have passed since the customer’s last call. Notes relating to a safeguarding concern may be retained for longer where necessary.

Are conversations confidential?

We aim to treat conversations confidentially. Confidentiality has limits where safeguarding concerns or legal obligations apply. Please read the customer terms for the full conditions before booking.

Can I book a call for a parent?

Yes. A family member can book and pay for a parent’s call with the parent’s agreement first. Make sure they know about the appointment, want to take part and can answer the telephone number supplied.

Can I cancel or change my booking?

Please give at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. Our customer terms allow a full refund or rescheduling for cancellations with at least 24 hours’ notice. Cancellations with less notice may be non-refundable. Read the cancellation conditions before booking.

What if I miss the call?

If you do not answer a scheduled call, the session may be treated as completed without a refund under our customer terms. Check your booking details and keep your phone nearby at the appointment time.

Is this suitable if I need urgent help?

No. Let’s Just Talk OK is a booked befriending service and cannot provide emergency or crisis support. Visit Need help now? for urgent support options.
